This technique is used to cover damaged or missing skins and it involves taking healthy and damaged skin from a part of the body to another part where the skin is missing or damaged to restore its function or appearance. Skin grafts have two types: one is called Split-Thickness skin graft which uses only the layers of skin that are closest to the surface. Or, Full-Thickness skin grafts which uses all layers of skin and it is usually used when the maximum elasticity of skin is needed to complete the surgery
– Tissue Expansion: is not a new technique but still common in many countries around the world. It involves inserting a tool that looks like a balloon under the skin and filling the gap with a special liquid. The liquid stretches and expands the skin over time. This technique is mainly used to grow extra skiing in the areas that are damaged and lost skin.
